How Scoring Works

  • There are five Scoring Categories:
    • Total Box Office
    • Weekend Points
    • Durability
    • Profit & Losses
    • Profit Point

  • Owners will be ranked first to last in each category based on the current value for that category.
  • Owners receive category points based on their rank (Rank=1st then Points=8, Rank=2nd then Points=7, Rank=3rd then Points=6…etc.)
  • The category points for each Owner will be added together to create the Owner’s Overall Score.
  • The Owner with the highest Overall Score is the Winner.

The Five Categories

  • Total Box Office
    • The total domestic box office dollars earned from the movie Release Date until either the movie Close Date or the end of the scoring period.
  • Week-end Points
    • Each weekend, movies will earn points for ranking in Top 3 in weekend box office (Fri-Sun); 5 points for first place, 3 for second and 1 for third.
  • Durability
    • The Total Box Office dollars divided by the Highest Weekend dollars (Fri-Sun). (Ex. Total Box Office=$35 Million, Highest Weekend=$10 Million, then the Durability score is 3.5)
    • The maximum Durability Score for an individual Movie is 6.0
  • Profits & Losses
    • The Total Box Office minus the Movie Budget (Movie Budget = auction draft bid amount, not the film's actual production budget).
  • Profit Point
    • If a movie is profitable then you get one point for that movie, it the movie is unprofitable then you get zero points for that movie.
