How Auction Draft Works

  • A League consists of 6-8 Owners.

  • Each Roster should consist of 8-10 movies

  • Each Owner starts with a $80 on 8 movie roster, $90 on a 9 movie roster, and $100 on a 10 movie roster.

  • Owners take turns making opening bids on a movie of their choice.

  • The bidding will then be opened to all Owners with a minimum of $1 increments until a high bidder wins the movie.

  • The minimum bid on a Movie is $1.

  • Each Owner must finish the draft with the same number of movies on their Roster.

  • Owners must always have at least $1 remaining to spend on a movie for every empty spot on their Roster.

    • If an owner $25 left and 5 empty roster spots their maximum bid on any movie is $21; that would leave $1 for each of the remaining 4 movies.

  • The winning Draft Bid Amount will be the multiplied by $5 million to determine the Movie Budget. The Movie Budget is the amount that a movie must surpass in actual domestic box office to be considered profitable
    • If The Dark Knight is won with a Draft Bid Amount of $45 then its Movie Budget will be $225 million.
  • All movies won with a Draft Bid Amount of $6 or less will be given a Movie Budget of $30 million, the minimum for any movie.
    • Beverly Hills Chihuahua is won with a Draft Bid Amount of $4 then its Movie Budget will be $30 million; but if it won for $8 then the Budget will be $40 million.
  • Unspent draft money has no value after the conclusion of the draft.
